A Very Potent Question

THE QUESTION THAT OPENS THE DOOR TO YOUR DESTINY

A blind beggar named Bartimaeus was sitting on the side of the road, when he heard that Jesus of Nazareth was nearby.   By now Jesus had a major league reputation in the regionAmong other things, to many, he was known as a healer, deliverer and revolutionary.

Stirred and excited, Bartimaeus began to shout, Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me! Chided by those around him, they demanded that Bartimaeus keep quiet, but he called out all the more.  Upon hearing Bartimaeus cry out, Jesus stopped and said,

Tell him to come here.   Cheer up, they said. Come on, hes calling you!  Bartimaeus threw aside his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus. Then Jesus asked Bartimaeus a very potent question, What do you want me to do for you?  (Mark 10:46-51)

3 Critical Questions
40 Days of Delight consists of three components  fasting, prayer and reflection. As you engage in these three disciplines, to whatever degree, here is a challenge for you.  Give the following some serious thought then write down your answers.
  • List three things that you would like God to do for you.
  • List three things youd like to accomplish in your lifetime.
  • Finish this sentence:  My greatest desire is____________________________.
How do you feel about the questions?
Do you find that the answers flow naturally?
Do you struggle to answer them?
Do you need time to think about them?

As you delight yourself in the Lord, be bold. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you throw off your coat, or whatever may hinder you or identify you as helpless and hopeless and cheer up!  Jesus is calling YOU. This is your moment to answer the big question:What do you want Him to do for you?

Let me hear from you.  Either post on my blog at http://40daysofdelight.blogspot.com/

Awestruck by God's Love

God is absolutely amazing and I am simply awestruck by His love, mercy and grace.  Starting and ending the days in His presence, I become increasingly aware of how much I need the Lord. This time of prayer, fasting and reflection causes my heart to open wide to his love and blessings.

We are praying for you and want to hear about your experience.
Sometimes we are hesitant to share because we've struggled during our time of fasting, but there's no reason to feel condemned. When we struggle it is the perfect opportunity to turn to the Lord for strength and continue to delight in Him.  Press on.  Rejoice in the Lord anyway!  We're all in it together.

Tell me how your 40 Days of Delight are going.  I’d love to hear from you.

Enjoy the Journey!
